Job Description
The Naval Training & Simulation (NTS) department is seeking a training curriculum engineer to work in the Nuclear Operations Training (NOT) unit. The unit maintains the compliance requirements for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program (NNPTP) and revisions to training manuals and qualification requirements. The NNPTP prepares navy personnel to qualify as nuclear propulsion plant operators in the fleet. The unit is located at several NNL sites and works together to provide unbiased verification of and compliance with training program requirements and vision. Furthermore, the unit provides modeling and projections for training program staffing and student allocation. The training curriculum engineer will frequently interface with Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL), Naval Reactors Headquarters (NRHQ), and Navy personnel dedicated to the training of Naval Nuclear Operators
Required Combination Of Knowledge And Skill
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or
  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or
  • Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or
  • Currently a Senior Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
Preferred Skills
  • Degrees in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering Technology, Nuclear Engineering, Radiological Science, or Physics are preferred.
  • Prior qualification as a nuclear propulsion plant operator on S9G.
  • Prior experience with the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Training Program curriculum.
  • Prior chemistry and radiological controls experience.
  • Qualified or ability to qualify Limited Radiological Worker.
  • Experience working on remote teams.

Pay Range
$95,700.00 - $149,600.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guideline only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
