Job summary

RTX BBN Technologies in Middletown, RI seeks a creative, hands-on Physical Systems Engineer for the PS2 unit. You will handle requirements development, design, fabrication, and technical documentation across systems, mechanical, electrical, and software domains.

Expect collaboration with scientists and program management to advance complex sensing and data collection platforms. The role emphasizes iterative design, traceability, and producing technical data packages.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US government issued security clearance is required.
• Experience in organizing and executing multidiscipline system design and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, decompose, and produce methodologies to satisfy system requirements and objectives.
• Create and analyze designs using computer modeling and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, MATLAB, Simulink, Ansys).
• Produce technical documentation including specifications, drawings, design walk-through guides, test procedures, and whitepapers.
• Maintain SWaP-C spreadsheets for project tracking.
• Conduct market and scientific database research to inform design approaches.
• Interface with internal and external scientists, engineers, and program management.
• Communicate project status through oral presentations and written reports.
• Travel domestically up to 10%.
