Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center in St. Louis is a premier acute care facility seeking an experienced ICU registered nurse to provide direct patient care across cardiac, vascular, general, and neuro populations.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet-certified environment focused on safety and nurse leadership. This role includes a weekend option with a minimum of 2 years ICU experience and the ability to work independently; ADN/BSN/MSN candidates

Qualifications

• RN license required (RN).
• Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree.
• Weekend option requires ≥2 years ICU experience and ability to work independently.
• ADN/BSN/MSN candidates accepted.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness management and home care needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents plans of care with defined goals with the interprofessional team.
• Communicates the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate needs.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care.

• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
