Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital, part of BJC HealthCare, seeks an experienced RN for night/day shift coverage in a newly established multidisciplinary ICU. The role focuses on direct patient care across cardiac, emergency, medicine, surgical, and neuro services.

RN license required with CCU/ICU experience preferred; ADN/BSN/MSN welcomed. The department offers shift differentials and a structured career ladder to advance professionally within BJC Total Rewards.

Qualifications

• Two years of critical care experience required.
• ADN/BSN/MSN candidates considered.
• RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness/injury management, post-treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs; respects patient values and cultural needs.
