Job summary

Harlequin Design New York Inc. is seeking an experienced Custom Fabricator/Metalworker to join our Farmingdale, NY workshop. This hands-on role spans metal fabrication, welding, and assemblies for diverse retail environments, from steel structures to displays and scenic elements.

You will read technical drawings, select fabrication methods, and collaborate with production teams to deliver high-quality finished pieces on tight schedules. Flexibility across materials and disciplines is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in custom fabrication or scenic/exhibit fabrication.
• Strong metal fabrication skills and experience with MIG/TIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret technical/shop drawings.
• Proficiency with measuring, cutting, bending and finishing metal components.
• Capability to work across different materials and fabrication disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate custom metal components and assemblies from drawings and specs.
• MIG and TIG weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Measure, cut, drill, bend, fit, weld, grind, and finish metal parts.
• Read and interpret technical shop drawings.
• Develop practical fabrication methods for one-off projects.
• Assemble displays, fixtures, and scenic elements.
• Assist with prototype builds and on-site installations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop.
