Job summary

Our client in Hastings, Michigan is seeking a skilled Machine Repair Technician to join the maintenance team. The role focuses on preventing breakdowns and ensuring safe operation of industrial machinery through mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and basic PLC troubleshooting skills.

You will support installation, relocation, and commissioning of new production equipment and collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and industrial maintenance experience.
• Recognized apprenticeship or journeyperson status preferred.
• Experience with multicraft maintenance across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled machinery and basic automation faults.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and automated equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and automation-related failures.
• Troubleshoot low- and high-voltage electrical systems and motor/relay components.
• Install, relocate, and assist with commissioning new equipment and production lines.
• Document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS.
• Support root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
