About the RoleYou’re the person who keeps complex production equipment humming. From first call to final sign-off, you install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machine tools, their attachments, and the auxiliary equipment that keeps the line moving. You’re equally at home diagnosing a sudden fault, fabricating a replacement shaft, or bringing a computer-controlled system back online. Safety, order, and precision guide your day.A Day in the LifeStart your shift by reviewing maintenance work orders and prioritizing urgent requests. You might install a new motor and starter on one machine, then move to troubleshoot a solid-state control issue on another. After lunch, you fabricate a pin and bushing set, perform preventative maintenance on key assets, and coordinate with a vendor to secure a hard-to-find replacement part. You wrap up by updating the maintenance system with accurate notes and mentoring an apprentice through a basic cutting and welding task—always keeping your area safe, clean, and aligned with 6S and all company safety programs.Core ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of machine tools, attachments, and auxiliary equipment.Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs, replacements, alignments, and adjustments.Fabricate replacement parts such as shafts, pins, and bushings.Perform basic cutting and welding activities.Conduct preventative maintenance and complex troubleshooting activities.Install and maintain electrical components including motors, starters, lighting circuits, power circuits, and breakers.Troubleshoot electrical systems, including solid-state controls.Diagnose and repair computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.Complete maintenance work orders and accurately document maintenance activities in the maintenance system.Coordinate with outside vendors and suppliers for technical services and replacement parts.Perform minor building maintenance repairs as needed.Assist in training and mentoring Maintenance Tech I employees, apprentices, and new team members.Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.Support 6S initiatives and all company safety programs.Perform all Maintenance Tech I duties as required.Complete additional duties as assigned. What You BringApprenticeship completion or 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience.Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and precision measuring devices.Working knowledge of machine tools, methods, materials, and maintenance practices.Ability to perform shop mathematics and work from charts, tables, formulas, and technical documentation.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.Comfortable working at heights.Ability to lift, move, and manipulate up to 35 lbs.Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.Must meet PIE requirements to operate equipment.Commitment to continuous learning and technical development.
