Job summary

Forsyth Tech is seeking an Instructor of Communication to join a team supporting student achievement from recruitment through graduation and beyond. The instructor will teach undergraduate communication courses and advance personal empowerment and workforce outcomes.

The role requires flexibility to teach face-to-face, online asynchronous, and online synchronous classes across multiple campuses as needed. A Master’s degree in Communication or related field with 18 graduate hours is required;

Qualifications

• Meet minimum SACS criteria and the minimum criteria of other accrediting agencies.
• Willingness and ability to teach face-to-face, online asynchronous, and online synchronous classes.
• Willingness and ability to travel and work at multiple campuses or offsite locations, including teaching high school students at the high schools as needed.
• Flexibility to teach morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes as needed.
• Understanding of assessment and continuous improvement.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheets, presentation and collaboration apps and software.
• Master’s Degree or higher in Communication or Master’s Degree or higher in a similar field with 18 graduate hours in Communication, from a USDE-accredited institution (SACSCOC).
• Successful teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach communication classes to undergraduate students.
• Design inclusive instructional activities to maximize equitable student outcomes.
• Maintain required college records including attendance and grades.
• Utilize LMS tools for instruction.
• Update course descriptions and syllabi to align with competencies.

Education

Master’s Degree in Communication with 18 graduate hours

Experience with assessment and continuous improvement

Teaching experience

Familiarity with inclusive pedagogy
