Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience requirements vary by level: I – 1 year in a related field; II – 2 years; III – 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Inspect residential and commercial building systems to ensure compliance with NC building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical codes.
• Document inspections, determinations, and corrective actions accurately.
• Review permit applications and plans for code compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to contractors and residents and schedule/certify courses as needed.
