Job summary

Metrc LLC is seeking a Tax & Compliance Accountant in Lakeland, FL, to support multi-state tax compliance and corporate filings. You will coordinate with tax filers, manage tax reconciliations, and maintain registrations across jurisdictions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance and 3+ years of experience, with strong Excel skills, NetSuite, and Vertex familiarity. A hybrid work arrangement is available, with on-site days in Lakeland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of multi-state tax compliance or corporate compliance experience.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-state structures.
• Proficient in MS Excel; ERP software (NetSuite) preferred; Vertex preferred.
• Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
• On-site work required: Lakeland, FL three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with third-party income tax filer to ensure timely filings.
• Process income tax payments.
• Support sales tax compliance across states and entities.
• Prepare tax reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries in monthly close.
• Maintain required state reporting for government contracts.
• Maintain corporate registrations and tax registrations.
• Manage the compliance calendar with deadlines and renewals.
• Respond to state notices and assist with tax audits.
• Monitor nexus and tax law changes as footprint grows.
• Assist in improving and automating compliance processes.
