Job Description for Multi-State Physician (MD/DO) at knownwell

Join knownwell, a weight-inclusive healthcare company dedicated to metabolic health services, primary care, nutrition counseling, and health coaching for individuals of all sizes. Our hybrid model offers both in-clinic and virtual care, allowing us to support patients wherever they are. Recently backed by Series A funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, we are expanding our team.

Position Details

• Location: Remote
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, flexible hours, 20-32 patient contact hours minimum with paid admin time
• EMR System: Athena
• On-Call: Phone call only, rotation every 7-8 weeks, 24/7 nurse-led support
• Employment Type: Part-time or Full-time (0.5, 0.7, or 1.0 FTE)

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional medical care within knownwell
• Manage adult patients (18+) for metabolic health
• Manage pediatric patients (12+) if licensed and experienced
• Deliver remote patient care via audio-visual technology
• Align with the knownwell mission of inclusivity and compassionate care
• Coordinate with the care team and document accurately for billing
• Communicate effectively with patients through our portal
• Ensure an environment of trust and personalized care
• Support patient goal setting and provide encouragement
• Supervise clinical staff as needed and stay current with licensure

Minimum Requirements

• MD or DO degree, board-certified in Family Practice or Internal Medicine
• Active, unrestricted license in at least 20 states
• Willingness to obtain additional licenses as required
• Valid DEA registration with prescribing authority
• BLS certification
• At least 2 years of clinical experience outside residency/fellowship, in-person or remote
• Experience in ambulatory care, family or internal medicine, preferably in chronic and weight management
• Willing to participate in weight management training and pursue ABOM certification if needed
• Excellent communication skills and commitment to inclusive, patient-centered care
• Access to high-speed internet and phone
