Job summary

Yardi is seeking a detail-oriented payroll professional to manage high-volume, multi-state payroll processing. You will verify timesheets, process payroll checks and taxes, and handle changes for new hires, terminations, deductions, and retroactive payments.

You will also assist with W-2 processing, respond to employee pay questions, manage PTO, and ensure compliance with wage laws. The role supports audits and special projects within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting or related area.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience processing payroll.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and experience using a 10-key.
• Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Phenomenal customer service skills and desire to go the extra mile.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Verify and audit timesheet data for accuracy and compliance with wage laws.
• Prepare, document and disperse payroll checks, taxes and benefits payments.
• Process hires, terminations, status changes, deductions and retroactive payments.
• Assist with annual processing of W-2s and employee changes.
• Respond to employee questions regarding paychecks.
• Manage PTO balances and leaves of absence.
• Calculate and prepare final checks for terminations.
• Respond to government wage garnishment or tax notices.
• Stay updated on state wage law changes.
• Collaborate with team and participate in audits.
• Greet verification requests and ensure timely responses.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Support special projects as directed by management.
