Job summary

Panek Precision Products in Northbrook, IL, seeks an experienced Screw Machinist to set up and operate single or multi-spindle lathe-type and CNC screw machines. You will perform turning, boring, threading, and facing on bar stock, selecting tooling per process sheets and ensuring safety and quality.

You will verify tool positions, inspect work with gauges and calipers, and train operators on difficult jobs. Full-time, on-site with day/night shifts available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
• Strong mechanical ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment and machinery.
• Basic math and English skills for part count, written and verbal work instruction.
• Ability to read blueprints, piece prints, work instructions and use measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Study blueprints, plan sequence of operations, and use process sheets.
• Select cutting speeds, feeds, and tools based on process sheets.
• Load material, start machine, observe operation, and verify conformance to specs.
