Pay Rate: $18.00/hr
Shift: 1st shift, Mon-Fri: 6:30am-5pm, Some Sat: 6am-11am
Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Multi-Spindle Screw Machine Operator to join our team in Illinois. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining multi-spindle screw machines to produce precision metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high production quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate multi-spindle screw machines (Acme, Davenport, or similar) according to production specifications.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues, making adjustments as needed to maintain production flow and quality.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
- Utilize precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure components meet strict quality standards.
- Monitor machine operation, detect malfunctions, and make necessary adjustments to optimize output and quality.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating Acme, Davenport, or similar multi-spindle screw machines.
- Proven ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Proficient in using micrometers and calipers for precise measurements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with hands and arms.
- Good visual acuity for reading blueprints and inspecting small components.
