Multi-Specialty Professional Coder - Contractor

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated coding professional to join our team as a Contract Coder. This is a remote role. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of coding experience in physician practices, covering various surgical specialties and E/M services. The candidate should be resourceful, organized, and driven. Key qualifications include:

1. Minimum 5 years of coding experience
2. Extensive coding in multiple specialties such as primary care, anesthesia, general surgery, dermatology, and orthopedics
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Detail-oriented with a deadline-driven attitude
5. Strong knowledge of medical terminology
6. Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, internet)
7. Ability to multitask and maintain a sense of urgency
8. Excellent customer service skills
9. Strong time management, organization skills, and work ethic

Job duties include:

1. Accurately coding medical records for evaluation and management, ancillary services, surgical procedures, and diagnoses
2. Working independently to meet project deadlines
3. Staying updated on new coding rules and code changes
4. Maintaining confidentiality and security of protected health information, following HIPAA policies
5. Preparing coding reports for customers and managers

Certification requirements:

• CPC or CCS-P required; CPMA, CEMC preferred
• COSC, CPCD, CEDC, CGIC, CGSG, CANPC, CAHONC, CIRCC, COBGC, COPC certifications preferred

Work volume varies depending on projects.
