Job summary

Amentum is seeking a 1st shift high‑level Multi‑Skilled Technician V to join our Lafayette, IN team. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of electrical and control systems in an industrial setting.

You will lead, mentor, and train technicians, work with 480V systems, and implement calibration programs to meet OEM tooling requirements. This is a hands‑on role with safety and customer communication at its core.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
5 years of experience performing mechanical maintenance and repair on production equipment in an industrial environment or equivalent.
Experience troubleshooting machine tools and complex mechanical systems.
Experience troubleshooting robotic control systems (Fanuc, ABB, etc.).
Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift up to 30 feet or higher.

Responsibilities

Diagnoses, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs process/production machines and electrical equipment from 24V up to 480V AC, electro‑mechanical test devices, PLCs/ladder logic controllers, and VFDs.
Calibrates instrumentation equipment and controls for optimum performance.
Procures parts from OEM or authorized vendors.
Identifies and documents cost savings.
Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments.
Creates and modifies site operations procedures for equipment and recommends reliability improvements.
Performs preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in CMMS.
Responds to and provides service and feedback on work orders, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
Recommends activities to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
Analyzes and resolves work problems; assists others as needed.
Upholds safety policies and uses PPE; performs lockout/tagout as required.
Operates measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments for energy efficiency solutions.
Maintains a strict schedule with flexibility for customer benefit.
Demonstrates leadership, ownership, communication; adheres to safety structure.
