Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s Emergency Care Center is seeking a Multi-Skilled Technician to provide both patient care and administrative support. The role requires active licensure as CNA/EMT/Paramedic or eligible status for Nursing students, plus CPI training within one year of hire.

Preferred candidates may hold PCT or CNA certification and are expected to obtain Florida CNA licensure within 120 days of graduation.

Qualifications

• Florida licensure as CNA/EMT/Paramedic or national EMT licensure; must be active during employment.
• Nursing students eligible for CNA exam if currently enrolled in accredited nursing program and not licensed as RN/LPN in US.
• PCT/CNA certification with Florida program and Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and administrative support in Emergency Care Center.
• Assist with routine clinical procedures and patient monitoring as needed.
• Complete CPI training within one year of hire.

Job Summary

The Multi-Skilled Technician is an experienced health care worker who provides both patient care and administrative support.

Required Qualifications

• Require one of the following:
  • 1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment;
  • 2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN;
  • 3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer the ability to assess, interact, communicate, and care for specific patient population, served by the department.
• Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
