About us

MediaLinks TV, LLC provides production and administrative support for information-based companies. MediaLinks TV, LLC serves CGTN America. CGTN America is an award-winning news organization that has been recognized for its high-quality, objective news coverage and programming. CGTN America in the Washington News Bureau for China Central Television ("CCTV"), which, through a division named the China Global Television Network ("CGTN"), offers a multi-language news channel that is broadcast to over 100 English speaking countries, including the United States.

About the role

We are seeking a technically proficient and highly adaptable Multi‑Skilled Operator to join our Broadcast Operations Team. In this role, you will be an integral part of getting programs to air — supporting the production and delivery of news content, both live and tape, within a fast‑paced studio and control room environment. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on technical expertise across multiple broadcast disciplines, with particular emphasis on video playout systems, which are central to our day‑to‑day broadcast operations.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate technical broadcast equipment safely as directed, including cameras, video playout systems, video mixers, graphics systems, lighting, and sound equipment to support all production requirements.
  • Monitor and manage video playout operations during live and pre‑recorded broadcasts, ensuring seamless on‑air delivery and adherence to rundown schedules.
  • Report technical issues — including playout system faults, signal failures, or equipment malfunctions — to the engineering team in a timely manner to minimize on‑air impact.
  • Dress IFBs, mic guests, and manage guest traffic on and off set as needed.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with producers, directors, and engineering teams to ensure seamless program execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Candidate requirements
  • Knowledge of video playout systems is a must — direct experience with broadcast playout platforms, automation systems, or media asset management in a live news or network environment is required.
  • Previous experience in a multi‑skilled technical operations role in local news or at a network level.
  • Solid working knowledge of production workflows and broadcast equipment including cameras, sound, video mixing, lighting, and graphics.
  • Strong communication skills — ability to communicate quickly, clearly, and effectively in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, multi‑task, and meet tight deadlines both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to proactively identify problems and offer solutions.
  • Enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and able to thrive in a multicultural and multilingual environment.
  • Ability to work on weekends and/or holidays as assigned.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of news and current affairs.
  • Experience with automation and digital rundown systems.
