Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist the Maintenance Manager with general operating maintenance and repair of the community and physical plant, ensuring safe, clean, and comfortable surroundings for residents and staff.

Daily tasks include responding to resident requests, performing electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting and structural repairs, and outdoor maintenance such as irrigation and roofing when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year certificate from college/technical school; or 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities with excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate with residents and their families.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Respond to resident and family requests for maintenance assistance.
• Capable of following directions to perform electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and structural repairs.
• Work on exterior tasks including irrigation, tree/vegetation maintenance, pool maintenance, hardscape surfaces, and roofing as applicable.
