Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. is seeking a versatile Maintenance Technician to perform HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks across the facility. You will read drawings, estimate tasks, and support safety and code compliance.

Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing systems, assisting with project work, and coordinating with departments. This role requires multi-trade experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work on-site at healthcare facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher
• Five (5) years’ maintenance experience with multiple trades
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints/diagrams
• Strong leadership, organization, independent thinking and sound judgment
• Ability to communicate complex topics to a diverse audience

Responsibilities

• Attend regularly and on-site as scheduled
• Maintain, repair, test and install HVAC systems and components in facility
• Maintain, repair, test and install plumbing fixtures, systems and gases
• Inspect, repair and install carpentry components including walls, doors and shelving
• Repair and maintain electrical wiring, panels, switches and lighting
• Read construction drawings and prepare estimates for projects
• Coordinate with other trades and departments during maintenance tasks
• Assist with snow removal and other related duties as assigned
• Support LEAN initiatives and safety/compliance programs
