Job summary

Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is seeking a Veterinary Practice Manager for its Vienna and Leesburg locations to provide strong, compassionate leadership across two hospitals with roughly a 50/50 split.

You will oversee payroll, staffing, budgeting, operations, and staff development while ensuring excellent patient care and a positive client experience. A associate or bachelor's degree is preferred, and credentialed veterinary technician status is a plus.

Qualifications

• Veterinary industry experience is required.
• Two to five years of management experience with responsibility for running a business unit, department, or hospital operation.
• Strong knowledge of the day-to-day operations of a veterinary hospital.
• Experience overseeing payroll, scheduling, staffing, and labor management.
• Working knowledge of profit and loss statements, budgeting, expenses, and financial performance.
• Ability and willingness to divide time approximately 50/50 between the Vienna and Leesburg locations.
• Ability and willingness to assist on the hospital floor when operational or patient-care needs require additional support.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and navigate employee relations matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across two hospital locations.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in complex, fast-paced, or emotionally charged situations.
• Kind, approachable, and committed to supporting staff, clients, and patients.
• Credentialed veterinary technician status is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations across Vienna and Leesburg locations with a 50/50 split.
• Serve as primary point of contact for staff, operational concerns, and routine problem-solving.
• Ensure each hospital maintains positive, efficient operational flow.
• Partner with leadership to align priorities and improve processes.
• Identify operational challenges and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
• Maintain understanding of daily hospital activity, staffing, patient flow, and team workload.
• Promote compassionate patient care and excellent client experiences.
