Job summary

Mark-Taylor is hiring a Service Technician to support the Central 100 Communities in Chandler, AZ. You will fix maintenance issues, perform make-readies, and keep communities running smoothly with five-star service.

Role requires HVAC knowledge, plumbing, drywall skills, and strong communication. On-call rotation includes an extra hourly incentive; certifications pay may apply. Benefits highlight medical, dental, and vision.

Qualifications

• Experience as an apartment maintenance technician or related role.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drywall, and general maintenance.
• Strong communication with residents, team members, and vendors.
• High-energy, self-motivated, able to work independently.
• EPA, HVAC, CPO, or other certifications preferred.
• Basic written and verbal English understood.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing make-ready units to Mark-Taylor standards.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC/heating/cooling issues and repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care and ensure chemical balance and safety.
• Inspect property for safety hazards and report to management.
• Share on-call duty with the facilities manager and team.

AZ. In this role, you will help keep our communities running smoothly by handling maintenance repairs and contributing to the upkeep of the community, while providing the five-star service that makes Mark-Taylor communities feel like home.

Compensation:

• The anticipated base pay range for this position is $22.00/hr - $24.00/hr
• All service team members who participate in the on-call rotation receive an additional $3.00/hour incentive for all hours worked while on-call.
• Additional hourly pay for EPA, CPO, and OSHA certifications***

Requirements

• Experience as an apartment maintenance technician, service technician, make-ready, or related preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drywall, and general apartment maintenance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents, team members, and vendors.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and maintaining high property standards.
• High-energy, self-motivated work ethic with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Adaptable and flexible with the ability to effectively respond to changing priorities and maintenance needs.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues.
• Ability to prioritize work orders and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills with experience using maintenance or property management software preferred.
• EPA, HVAC, CPO, or other industry-specific certifications preferred.
• A basic understanding of written and verbal English.

In This Role You Will:

• Assist in the completion of make ready units to Mark-Taylor standards and maintains adequate supply of make-ready units for the Community.
• Trouble-shoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, electrical problems, plumbing problems, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
• Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
• Perform daily pool care, assures pool is in proper chemical balance and area is free of safety concerns.
• Complete minor roof repairs, re-key locks, and cut keys
• Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and corrects the hazard to inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
• Share on-call duty with Manager of Facilities and Service, and service team members and is readily available to go the property if needed and in uniform/badge.
• Assist in monitoring inventory of parts and cleaning supplies.
