Job summary

Compass Rail Services LLC seeks an experienced Operations Leader to manage up to 4 RRA locations in MA and PA, directing 2–4 crew members per site. You will onboard and train new crew members responsible for inspecting rolling stock for AAR/FRA defects, while achieving 100% billable hours across areas of responsibility.

The role reports to the Regional Manager and offers a salary range of $75k–$90k per year, with travel as needed to sites within the region.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inspection, maintenance, and repair of railroad rolling stock at multiple locations.
• Assemble and lead qualified crews; plan staffing for car flow.
• Maintain safety training and compliance with AAR/FRA/OSHA.
• Ensure 100% billable hours across all locations.
• Manage onboarding and training for new crew members.
• Coordinate with health and safety, quality, and other departments.
• Plan track closures and respond to derailments or bad orders.
• Oversee MRU call-out work and travel as needed.
• Report to Regional Manager.
