Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital seeks a Float Pool Medical Assistant for primary care across multiple offices in Dade and Broward counties. The role supports physicians and clinicians with clinical and administrative tasks while adapting to varied site workflows.

Responsibilities include patient intake, immunizations, medication administration, charting, billing support, and care coordination across divisions. Travel between sites is required to maintain continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years Medical Assistant experience with active certification, or 5+ years MA experience with one of the listed licenses/certifications
• Active certifications (CNA, LPN, EMT, Paramedic) or MA certification required
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Fluent in English; Spanish preferred in patient interactions
• Proven ability to work across multiple sites and adapt to workflows

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones, routes calls, takes and relays messages
• Prepares and administers medications to patients as directed by provider
• Gathers data for reports and assists in charting and documentation
• Maintains billing charges, reconciliations, and assists with claims
• Performs vital signs, patient education, and specimen collection
• Cross-trains to registrar role and supports front office as needed
