Job summary

Pavement Preservation Group (PPG) in Kansas City, MO seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across multiple plant locations, ensuring equipment and facilities are safe, reliable, and available for production. The role requires directing a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with plant managers to optimize uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible industrial maintenance experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Experience developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and working with a CMMS.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 480V systems, motors, controls, instrumentation, PLCs, VFDs, and MCCs.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, gearboxes, bearings, piping, and hydraulics.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment, conduct root-cause analysis, and improve reliability.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA, LOTO, confined-space, hot-work, and electrical-safety requirements.
• Ability to lead employees, manage competing priorities, communicate across departments, and make sound decisions in urgent situations.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and develop a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel, ensuring adequate staffing and skills development.
• Foster a strong safety culture and accountability within the maintenance organization.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities with plant managers and production supervisors.
• Standardize maintenance practices across sites where feasible.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including preventive maintenance schedules and CMMS optimization.
• Lead efforts to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life.
• Analyze equipment failures and lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Establish maintenance KPIs and track performance, including downtime, MTBF, maintenance cost, and backlog.
• Oversee maintenance of process equipment, electrical and control systems, fabrication and welding, facilities and grounds.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA and company safety policies; coordinate major repairs and capital projects.
