Job summary

Hattiesburg Convention Commission is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain landscaping at Lake Terrace Convention Center and travel to other facilities, including Saenger Theater, African American Military History Museum, Eureka School Museum, and the Hattiesburg Zoo. This full-time role requires 40 hours weekly, with some weekends/evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• Performs routine grounds maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Strong oral communication and ability to follow instructions.
• Reading and writing skills sufficient for logs and reports.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and drive as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain routine landscaping for facility grounds.
• Review outsourced lawn contracts with leadership.
• Plan small-scale landscaping operations.
• Inspect and report maintenance needs.
• Prepare soil, plant, fertilize, and mulch landscapes.
• Ensure grounds are clean and safe.
• Carry a two-way radio at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
