Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Area Supervisor- Child Nutrition to lead daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with USDA and health department guidelines. The role focuses on staff readiness, training, and partnering with campus leadership to deliver quality meals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of management and supervision in food service.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a automobile.
• Ability to obtain SNS credentialing.
• Ability to obtain ServSafe Manager certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and evaluate foodservice managers; ensure staff evaluations are completed.
• Plan and deliver staff training aligned to departmental needs.
• Recruit and retain qualified foodservice staff and ensure adequate staffing.
• Oversee USDA-compliant meal planning, production, service quality, and safety.
• Analyze participation, labor, inventory, and finances to improve efficiency.
• Maintain audit-ready records and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Liaise with schools and partners to boost participation and meal quality.
