Job summary

UTEC is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain our Lowell, Lawrence, and Haverhill sites. The role involves repairs, carpentry, painting, and installations, with a focus on safety and cleanliness, and supporting regular inspections and event setups.

You will manage work orders, assist with capital projects, coordinate with vendors and staff, and respond to alarms and emergencies. The job requires physical work outdoors, driving to local locations, and occasional evenings or weekends for

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a facilities role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or HVAC systems.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive commercial vehicles.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities work orders and ensure timely completion.
• Perform repairs across multiple sites in Lowell, Lawrence, and Haverhill.
• Patch and paint walls; repair doors and hardware.
• Replace ceiling tiles and lighting fixtures.
• Install baseboards and hang wall items; basic carpentry.
• Support with internal construction projects and event setups.
• Maintain safe, clean, and professional workplaces.
• Assist with alarms, safety inspections, and emergency management.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal staff as needed.
