Job summary

Canyon Capital Resources in Grand Rapids, MI, seeks a hands‑on Facility Assistant to help maintain safe, welcoming office environments across multiple sites. Reporting to the Facility Manager, you’ll support operations, security, and maintenance while addressing tenant and employee needs with proactive service.

Responsibilities include CMMS work orders, updating floor plans, coordinating vendors, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in facilities management, building operations, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular building inspections and audits to ensure safety, cleanliness and maintenance standards.
• Serve as the second level of escalation for after‑hours and weekend facility emergencies unless otherwise scheduled.
• Maintain and update the CMMS system for work order entry, status updates, and reporting.
• Oversee and maintain the building’s security card access system and vendors.
• Monitor and support the building’s camera systems, ensuring equipment is operational.
• Update digital floorplans and CAD files reflecting space changes and documentation.
