Job summary

Daimler Truck North America LLC. is seeking a Facility Engineer to oversee maintenance, reliability, and improvements across five buildings in multiple locations, including Gaffney, SC.

You will provide engineering leadership and manage capital projects, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement. The role requires a mechanical/electrical/civil facilities background with strong project management, budgeting, and contractor coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Facilities Engineering or related field, or 6 years’ equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years supporting industrial facilities and manufacturing operations.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience using CMMS MaintainX.
• Ability to develop and control project budgets and CAPEX.
• Knowledge of building systems and utilities.
• Experience coordinating contractors/outside service providers.
• Understanding of preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Project).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of TPM/Lean/Continuous Improvement; SAP experience.
• Capital projects >$250,000; energy management knowledge.
• Familiarity with NFPA/OSHA/EPA/building codes; PMP or similar cert.

Responsibilities

• Lead facility improvement projects from concept through closeout.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Monitor capital and expense spending and maintain budgets.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Address facility issues and maintenance requests from leadership.
• Support electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and security systems.
• Maintain active security systems and change management processes.
• Perform facility assessments to identify reliability improvements and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
• Document project drawings, permits, and maintenance records.
• Collaborate with operations, safety, environmental, and leadership teams.
