Job summary

Banner Health seeks an experienced PA or NP to join its emergency medicine float team, covering Banner Baywood in Mesa, Banner Gateway in Gilbert, and Banner Casa Grande. The role offers diverse clinical experiences, working across three EDs with a collaborative EM group.

Ideal candidates hold PA/NP certification, Arizona licensure, DEA, and BLS/ACLS/PALS. A minimum of 1 year EM experience is preferred. Full-time with rotating shifts and travel among sites are required.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program.
Current NCCPA certification (PA) or national board certification (NP).
Arizona licensure as a PA or NP, or ability to obtain.
Current DEA registration or eligibility.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Minimum 1 year of EM experience as a PA or NP preferred.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
Order, interpret, and act upon laboratory and diagnostic studies.
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Perform procedures consistent with emergency medicine privileges and experience.
Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, consultants, and ancillary staff to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Provide scheduled coverage at Banner Baywood, Banner Gateway, and Banner Casa Grande based on operational needs.
Support departmental quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives.
