Job summary

Midwest City - Del City School District is seeking a Child Nutrition Assistant Director to oversee all child nutrition operations in the Oklahoma City area. The role requires strong leadership to supervise a large multi-site team and ensure compliance with NSLP, SBP, and related programs.

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree or higher and have at least five years of institutional food service experience, with a proven track record in policy adherence, menu standardization, and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• 5+ years related institutional food service experience.
• Working knowledge of federal child nutrition meal and operation requirements.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing a large multi-site team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Child Nutrition employees.
• Work cooperatively with the State Department of Child Nutrition to ensure policy adherence including NSLP, SBP, USDA Commodity Acquisition and SFSP.
• Supervise purchasing procedures to ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Oversee standardization, preparation, and serving of menus at all schools.
• Visit and inspect school kitchen facilities at least monthly to maintain high standards.
• Collaborate with State Health Department and district to ensure health, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Oversee onboarding and training of new employees and ongoing professional development.
• Support Director in improving employee retention and reducing turnover.
• Coordinate with site and district admins to enhance the student cafeteria experience.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
