Job summary

Follett Higher Education seeks a Campus Store Director for the Univ of Miami Bookstore in Coral Gables, FL. The role manages a large multi-site college bookstore, directing budgets, staff, inventory, and customer experience.

You will lead strategy, ensure policy compliance, and optimize sales while partnering with faculty and administration. This is a high-responsibility, multi-unit leadership role within Follett's network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• 5+ years of big box, multi-unit retail management; academic retail experience a plus; strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong customer service, communication, and presentation skills; strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
• Advanced relationship building with ability to influence a team and customer outreach.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for full-cycle talent management, including recruiting, training, coaching, and talent development.
• Prepares and implements detailed plans for each department including schedules, budgets, floor plans, and rush.
• Coordinates sales promotions, events, and advertising copy; guides merchandising and store layouts.
• Analyzes data to measure performance; oversees annual budget and profitability.
• Monitors cash flow, inventory, markdowns, and margins within guidelines.
• Ensures safety and policy compliance for staff and customers.
• Oversees course materials orders, adoption compliance, and buyback opportunities.
• Fosters a solutions-based culture and exceptional customer experience.
• Develops inventory plans to meet demand and supports annual inventory processes.
• Represents Follett with faculty, administrators, and business contacts.
• Addresses escalated issues and supports renovations, openings, closings, and special reports.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
