Job summary

StartCare seeks a qualified clinical supervisor to enhance counselor effectiveness and treat higher risk patients across East Harlem and the South Bronx. The role focuses on reducing risk, improving outcomes, and increasing patient engagement through robust supervisory practices.

The position requires LMSW, supervision experience, and strong knowledge of HIPAA/42 CFR. Responsibilities include caseload oversight, evaluations, coordination, and staff training in an interdisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
• Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.
• Experience supervising staff and trainers in clinical settings.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
• Ability to problem solve and coordinate interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide initial, annual, and crisis mental health evaluations as needed.
• Maintain an average caseload of at least 40 patients as directed.
• Deliver individual and group psychotherapy and complex care coordination.
• Offer clinical supervision to CASAC Counselors with weekly meetings.
• Ensure timely completion of program documentation in EMR and related systems.
• Assess patients with co-occurring disorders; perform risk assessments and safety planning.
• Provide staff training and coaching on evidence-based practices.
• Ensure HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 compliance among staff.
• Supervise Social Work or Mental Health Counseling Interns when applicable.
• Attend weekly supervision, Case Conferences, and MDT meetings.
• Complete mandatory Relias trainings and escalate regulatory issues as needed.
• Provide administrative coverage for clinic management and travel as required.
