Job summary

Widmyer Facilities is seeking a dependable Apartment Maintenance Technician to support multiple residential properties in Grand Forks, ND and surrounding communities. This hands-on role involves maintaining apartments, common areas, and building systems while delivering responsive service to residents.

You will diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and other systems, and prepare units for new occupants with make-ready work.

Qualifications

• Experience in apartment, residential, property, or facilities maintenance preferred.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance repair, and basic HVAC troubleshooting.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize work orders, and manage time effectively.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks indoors/outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident maintenance requests accurately and in a timely manner.
• Diagnose and perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, drywall, painting, and other building systems.
• Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, including repairs, painting, fixture replacement, and general make-ready work.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine property inspections.
• Identify maintenance and safety concerns and communicate larger repair needs to management.
• Maintain common areas, building exteriors, and property grounds as needed.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice removal.
• Travel between company properties in the Grand Forks area as needed.
• Participate in an after-hours/on-call rotation for emergency maintenance requests.
• Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, vendors, coworkers, and property management.
