Job summary

A&R Group Hospitality is seeking an Area Maintenance Technician based in Gulf Shores, AL. This hands-on role supports multiple hotel properties, maintaining mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire safety, and pool/spa systems while traveling between sites.

You will work with on-site Chief Engineers, perform preventive maintenance, ensure safety compliance, and respond to guest requests. This role requires a strong background in hotel maintenance and the ability to obtain CPO certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of hotel, facility, or building maintenance experience.
• 3+ years of management or multi-property oversight experience.
• Certified Pool and Spa Operator (CPO) certification required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license, clean MVR, and active automobile insurance required.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between assigned properties.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and during severe weather conditions as needed.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Comfortable using office software and maintenance management systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and loss control principles.
• High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and composure under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs., climb ladders up to 30 feet, and work in high or confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on building systems across properties.
• Monitor pool and spa operations and ensure safety compliance.
• Assist on-site Chief Engineers with troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repairs and projects.
• Provide after-hours and emergency support, including on-call rotations.
• Travel regularly between hotel properties in the region.
