Job summary

Tenneco is seeking an experienced welder to join our manufacturing team in Indiana. The role focuses on applying appropriate welding processes to meet specifications and supporting assembly of exhaust pipe components.

Responsibilities include setting up welding equipment, inspecting welds, and collaborating with teammates across a cellular workflow while adhering to safety and Lean principles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of previous MIG welding experience required.
• Knowledge of five welding processes: Fuel Gas, Stick Electrode, GMAW, GTAW, Resistance.

Responsibilities

• Handle materials and tools, set-up welding processes and inspect welds to meet specifications.
• Be a team member and rotate to other workstations within the cell.
• Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on welding equipment and complete daily forms.
• Weld and repair welds on parts per specifications as needed.
• Work within safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards.
• Obtain supplies and perform proper setup of welding power supplies and controls.
• Inspect all welds for quality, troubleshoot and adjust as needed.
• Assist other team members when welding is not required.
• Maintain clean welding station and support 5S improvements.
• Support Lean Principles implementation.
