WBNS-TV Columbus (CBS) seeks a dynamic Meteorologist to join our WX team. You will prepare and deliver accurate weather forecasts on-air and online across multiple platforms, with a focus on severe weather updates and engaging graphics.

The role requires teamwork, brainstorming, and participation in planning for future shows and important weather events. The ideal candidate holds a BA/BS in Meteorology or related field, has 3–5 years of on-air experience, and is proficient posting content to

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience or Atmospheric Science.
3-5 years on-air meteorology experience.
Proficient posting content to websites and social media; computer literacy including weather/newsroom systems.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts on a multi-platform environment.
Prepare and deliver severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary.
Produce clean, creative weather graphics to tell the weather story.
Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
Write and report from the field or inside the newsroom.
Update website and interact with viewers on social media daily.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
