Job summary

WBZ-TV, part of CBS News and Stations, seeks a dynamic, experienced meteorologist for the NEXT Weather team in Boston. Responsibilities include creating daily forecasts, producing graphics, and covering severe weather from studio or in the field.

You will report on climate impacts and collaborate across CBS platforms to deliver timely, viewer-focused weather content. The ideal candidate is AMS certified with strong storytelling, social media skills, and a willingness to engage with the

Qualifications

• Must be a certified AMS meteorologist.
• Must tell clear, comprehensive weather stories.
• Must be skilled at posting weather updates on social media.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and 5+ years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Create daily forecasts aligned with the NEXT Weather brand.
• Produce clean, creative graphics and deliver accurate forecasts.
• Cover severe weather from studio or on the field.
• Report on climate change and its local impacts.
• Collaborate with WBZ-TV, CBSBoston.com and CBS News Boston teams.
• Originate, write, narrate, produce and report weather stories.
• Deliver breaking weather coverage to help families stay safe.
