Job summary

TEGNA, Inc. in Temple, TX is seeking a dynamic Meteorologist to deliver accurate weather forecasts across on-air and online platforms. You will forecast, produce graphics, and report from field while engaging viewers on social media and updating the website daily.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in Meteorology and 0–1 year on-air experience, with willingness to cover severe weather events and participate in special projects. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Meteorology or related field.
• 0–1 year on-air meteorology experience.
• Proficient with posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy including weather and newsroom systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate weather forecasts on a multi-platform environment.
• Deliver severe weather updates and interrupt regular programming as necessary.
• Produce clean, creative and informative graphics to tell the weather story.
• Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
• Write and report from the field or inside the newsroom.
• Update website and interact with viewers on social media daily.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Make public appearances.
