Job summary

TEGNA’s WPMT-TV Harrisburg (FOX) is seeking a dynamic Meteorologist to deliver accurate weather forecasts across TV, online and social platforms. You will gather data, forecast weather events, and communicate in a conversational way while producing graphics and reporting from the field.

The role emphasizes teamwork in severe weather coverage and engaging audiences on digital channels. The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in Meteorology or related field and 1–3 years on-air experience, with

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Meteorology, Geoscience or Atmospheric Science.
1-3 years on-air meteorology experience preferred.
Proficiency in posting content to websites and social media; newsroom computer systems familiarity.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts across TV, online, and social platforms.
Deliver severe weather updates and interrupt programming when necessary.
Create graphics to tell the weather story and report from field or newsroom.
Update website and engage viewers on social media daily.
Support additional shifts and special projects as assigned.
