Job summary

TEGNA's WCNC-TV Charlotte seeks a dynamic Meteorologist to deliver accurate weather forecasts on-air and online in a conversational style. You will gather data, prepare graphics, report from the field, and contribute to severe weather coverage across TV, web and social platforms.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Meteorology or related field.
• 3–5 years on-air meteorology experience.
• Proficient with posting content to websites and social media; weather and newsroom systems literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate weather forecasts on multiple platforms.
• Deliver severe weather updates.
• Produce graphics to tell the weather story.
• Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
• Write and report from the field or newsroom.
• Update website and interact with viewers daily on social media.
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Make public appearances.
