Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC Health) is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality X-ray and CT imaging, while ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will verify patient information, prepare examinations, and collaborate with physicians to deliver accurate diagnostic images.

Applicants should have 2+ years in diagnostic imaging and CT, ARRT radiography and CT registrations, SCRQSA and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• 2+ years in diagnostic imaging & CT; emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic experience preferred.
• ARRT registration in Radiography and CT; SCRQSA; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in X-ray and CT modalities.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Verify patient information and prepare for examinations.

Compensation & Incentives

• Sign-on bonus: $10,000
• Relocation assistance: Up to $5,000 for eligible candidates

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X-ray and CT modalities.
• Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
• Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
• Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
• Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.

Additional Job Description

Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

Required 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities. Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Required Registration/Certification

• Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Must be registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) & Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
