Job summary

MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care in Summerville, SC is seeking a PRN Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality X-ray and CT imaging. You will prioritize patient comfort and safety, ensure accurate patient prep, and produce diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed physicians.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT and SCRQSA registration in Radiography and CT, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology is required.
• ARRT & SCRQSA registrations in Radiography (R) and Computed Tomography (C) are required.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in X-ray and CT modalities.
• Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring comfort and safety during imaging.
• Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and obtain cooperation.
• Verify patient information and prepare prior to examinations.
• Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely per departmental protocols.
• Produce accurate diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to support timely diagnosis.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies.

• Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
• Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience: Required 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities. Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Required Registration/Certification:

• Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Must be registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) & Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
