Job summary

MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, part of MUSC Health Charleston Medical Center Downtown, seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform X-ray and CT imaging with high quality and patient-centered care. The role requires graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT and SCRQSA registrations, and a minimum of two years’ diagnostic imaging experience.

Offering day & night shifts with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for eligible candidates, this on-site position

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• ARRT and SCRQSA registrations required (Radiography and CT).
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in diagnostic imaging & CT.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in X-ray and CT modalities.
• Provide exceptional patient care ensuring comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
• Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions.
• Verify patient information and ensure proper preparation prior to examinations.
• Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely per departmental protocols.
• Produce accurate diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• Maintain competency in imaging procedures and equipment.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure for patients and staff.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to support diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience: Required 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT. Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities. Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision. Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment. Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Required Registration/Certification:

• Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Must be registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) & Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
