Job summary

University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc. seeks a Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist to perform high-quality radiologic exams across Diagnostic X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography and Bone Density.

The role requires credentialed experience in at least two modalities and participation in on-call schedules. Responsibilities include performing invasive and noninvasive imaging under supervision, QA/QC of equipment, ongoing training, and timely communication of image quality to PACS.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years multi-disciplinary radiology department experience.
• 1–3 years radiographic procedures knowledge required.
• 1–3 years CT experience; preferred in certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform invasive and noninvasive imaging procedures under supervision.
• Attend staff meetings and mandatory training; onboarding and development.
• Participate in weekend schedule coverage and on-call shifts as needed.
• Prepare for Joint Commission, ACR, and Stericycle inspections; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform venipuncture for contrast media and medications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of department and notify service engineers of equipment issues; log QA/QC.
• Collect patient history and review image quality; forward to PACS.
• Initiate life support measures as appropriate.

Job description

Overview

The multi-modality technologist will be required to perform high quality radiologic exams with a minimum of two qualifying/credentialed modalities to meet the specific needs of the departments. The Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist is required to work routinely in all disciplines in which they are registered to perform exams. These include Diagnostic Xray, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, Mammography and Bone Density. The multimodality technologist must participate in the on-call schedule where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Technologist will be required to perform invasive and noninvasive procedures, utilize sterile techniques when necessary, and operate complex imaging equipment under the direction of the Director and/or Manager.
• Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory training. Staff orientation, onboarding, training and development.
• Participates in weekend schedule coverage, must participates in the on call schedule where applicable. Covers additional shifts based on the department need.
• Preparation for the Joint Commission, ACR, Stericycle inspections and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Perform venipuncture to administer contrast media and other medications with appropriate clinical education.
• Performs all other duties assigned by management within job specifications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of department and notifies Bio-Med and other service engineers of equipment issues. Performs and logs QA/QC for equipment in use.
• Collects and documents appropriate patient history. Reviews image quality and forwards timely to PACS.
• Initiates life support measures as appropriate.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements

• 1-3 years Multi-Disciplined Radiology Department required
• 1-3 years Knowledge of Radiographic procedures and practices required
• 1 -3 Years Preferred Experience In Breast Imaging Preferred
• 1 -3 years CT scan experience - required in certain positions preferred

Education

Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology program, (JRCERT). Must be American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registered and hold post primary certification in a minimum of one additional qualifying discipline in which exams will be performed in the role of Multi-Modality Technologist upon hire. Must also hold current Basic Life Support certification and Florida State License for Radiographers.
