Job summary

MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality X-ray and CT imaging. You will provide patient-centered care, explain procedures, and ensure safety and comfort throughout exams.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, 2+ years in diagnostic imaging and CT, ARRT/SCRQSA registrations, and BLS certification. This position supports a team-focused hospital environment and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
  • 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT.
  • ARRT and SCRQSA registration required; ARRT radiography and CT certifications.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in X-ray and CT.
  • Provide exceptional patient care while maintaining comfort and safety.

Job Description Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X-ray and CT modalities.
  • Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
  • Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
  • Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
  • Operate X-ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
  • Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.
Education

Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience
  • Required 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT.
  • Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities.
  • Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
  • Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must be familiar with age specific criteria.
Required Registration/Certification
  • Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
  • Must be registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) & Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
