Job Summary

The primary responsibility of a Multi-Modality Technologist is to perform and produce images for two procedures with related techniques, such as CT, XR, or MRI.

Essential Functions

• Perform duties for any two imaging modalities, such as XR, CT, MRI, ARRT, or RDMS.
• Operate equipment safely to minimize risk to patients and staff.
• Select appropriate imaging techniques and sequences based on various factors.
• Understand workflows, procedures, and processes of imaging modalities.
• Perform venipuncture, including starting, maintaining, and removing intravenous access.
• Ensure radiation and other protections are followed specific to each modality.
• Obtain and verify patient clinical history and lab work.
• Use Point of Care (POC) devices for lab work.

Qualifications

Education

• Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited institute in an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography (preferred).
• Associate of Applied Science in Imaging (preferred).

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred).
• State Licensure Certification (preferred or required by the state where the job is performed).
• Registration with ARRT, RDMS, or CNMT (required).
• Obtain certification within 12 months in two of the following: Bone Densitometry, Breast Sonography, Radiologic Technology, Computed Tomography, MRI, Ultrasonography, Nuclear Medicine, Vascular Interventional Radiography, Mammography, Vascular Sonography, Registered Vascular Technologist, etc.

Experience

• 1 year of experience in healthcare environment (preferred).

Training

• EPIC EHR, PACS, RIS, and IV Contrast Administration experience are preferred.
