TEGNA Inc. is seeking a strategic President & General Manager for WOI/KCWI-TV in Des Moines and WQAD in the Quad Cities to drive revenue growth, high-quality journalism, and audience expansion across platforms.

You will lead two markets, build high-performing teams, set strategy, manage budgets, and strengthen community partnerships while guiding innovation and accountability. This executive role requires 7-10 years of leadership in media and a bachelor’s degree; the ideal candidate blends

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in media or related industry.
• Proven track record leading high-performing teams and delivering business, financial and audience results.
• Strong strategy development and execution ability with accountable teams.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting and profitability focus.
• Experience leading across multiple functions and aligning teams with different priorities.

Responsibilities

• Leads strategy and performance of both stations, covering content, sales, brand and operations across platforms.
• Develops and executes short- and long-term strategies to grow revenue, audience, market share and profitability.
• Provides strategic leadership for content operations and journalism.
• Leads multiplatform strategy across markets to expand reach and engagement.
• Partners with sales leadership to drive advertising solutions and revenue growth.
• Develops and manages annual budgets and forecasts with accountability across markets.
• Builds and develops leadership teams and cross-functional alignment.
• Drives innovation and community engagement across both markets.
