Job summary

Arlington Heights Ford is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join our Used Vehicle Reconditioning team. This role offers hands-on work on a variety of Ford and other makes, with a focus on inspections, repairs and preparing vehicles for sale.

You’ll diagnose and repair a range of systems, perform maintenance, and collaborate in a busy dealership environment. ASE certifications are a plus, but real-world ability and a strong work ethic are valued most.

Qualifications

• Solid general mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to inspect and identify needed repairs.
• Comfort working on multiple makes and models.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills.

Responsibilities

• Used vehicle inspections and safety checks
• Oil changes and routine maintenance
• Brakes and brake system repairs
• Tires, rotations and balancing
• Batteries and starting/charging systems
• Steering and suspension repairs
• Belts, hoses and filters
• Check-engine-light and basic diagnostic work
• Minor electrical repairs
• Light engine and mechanical repairs
• Identifying additional repairs needed during the reconditioning process
• Working on Ford vehicles as well as a wide variety of domestic, Asian and European makes
